Hybrid working, full-time permanent position offering up to £26,000 per annum depending on experience.

An exciting opportunity to work for a specialist community-based law firm as a Court of Protection Caseworker has become available. Based in Birmingham, the successful candidate would be supporting vulnerable individuals, who lack the mental capacity to make their own key day to day decisions. This will include in managing their financial affairs a caring and compassionate way.

Key responsibilities of the role would include:

  • Overseeing, setting and maintaining clients’ personal and household budgets, including paying client bills
  • Organising professional support for clients including therapists and care staff
  • Responding and resolving client emergencies in an efficient and supportive manner
  • Account balancing and report writing
  • Provide recommendations to the appointed deputy concerning financial requests, budgets and change in circumstance
  • Working with and supporting incapacitous clients, helping them to live as well as possible.
Although previous experience working in the Court of Protection is not essential, prospective applicants should have experience managing and supporting the needs of vulnerable adults in their day-to-day affairs including household budgets, property sales and purchases, understanding and overseeing investments and arranging work to properties.

The role requires an individual who is patient, compassionate and organised, has outstanding communication skills and who is committed to improving people’s lives; having developed the skills to manage individuals’ finances through previous life experience. Candidates must also hold a full driving licence.
